Chairman's Letter

Great ready for another great show!

We’re very pleased that Packard is the featured marque for the 2012 Concours. We have some great Packards lined up, as well as other interesting, unusual and historic vehicles for the 18 classes that will be part of the Concours this year.

We’ll have an exciting group of Packards on the grounds, including pre-war and post-war examples of this great American classic.

I’m excited to get a look at the 1934 Packard 1101 owned by Greg Aarsen. The car underwent a two-year restoration and won top awards at Meadow Brook and Ault Park concours and was the Best in Show at the Willistead Concours d’Elegance in 2008. I’ve seen pictures; let me tell you it’s awesome!

Also scheduled to appear is a rare Packard Darin, among many others.

Other collectible cars expected to be on display include:

-- A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible with a rain-sensing top and a cigarette-ash evacuation system.

-- A Muntz Jet sports car designed to compete with the early Corvettes.

-- A 1948 Nash Ambassador with a conditioned air system.

In addition to American classics and muscle cars, we’ll have an assortment of classic and current foreign sports cars, classic motorcycles as well as a class of historic NASCAR racers.

We’ll let you know more as we confirm appearances.

We’re also working on an appearance of a local car that braved a tough around-the-world rally, driven by a father, his son and grandson. That’s all developing even as we speak, and there’s a chance of further surprises along that line.

On the day of the show keep an eye out for the redesigned entry and parking lanes for attendees and exhibitors. We’ll have more lanes open for buying tickets and parking the day of the show. Will Call ticket holders will have their own designated entry. Exhibitors bringing cars will have new entry lanes and parking. For more information click "Event Map & Parking" in the "VISITORS" section.

Thanks to all of the car owners who will share their prized possessions with us.

Of course, all this effort and excitement is our way of supporting Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the beneficiary of our event.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Keeneland!

All the best,Tom and Connie Jones
